Ireland is one of the most vibrant members of the European Union.  In recent years the chrysalis has been overwhelming.  Old areas of Dublin have been bought up, converted and developed into fashionable streets and thoroughfares.  Tourists have flocked, as have business - the International Financial Services Center and Irish Development Authority have  helped to propelled the Irish economy to the forefront of Europe.  Ireland has a past and a present that is steeped in the hard work  and innovations of the local people.

Howth Harbour Gallery is nestled in the fishing village of Howth, about 12 miles outside of Dublin. For those with an afternoon to spare it is worth the short trip to this well loved peninsula jutting out into the Irish Sea to kiss the lovely island of Ireland's Eye.  Howth Harbour Gallery is set  a stone's throw back from the boat moorings on number 6 Abbey Street and is a inviting  three story light lavender house with a cheerful red door and a welcoming proprietress.  Once inside, you can see that the owner has a love of the works that she displays and an intimate knowledge of the local post modern and contemporary Irish art scene.

Howth Harbour Gallery caters to a wide variety of styles and tastes concentrating on painting in water colours and oils, silk hangings, portraits, greeting cards, gifts, hand painted themed silk scarves and jewellery.

Please feel free to wander through this site and to browse through Phyllis's own works as well as those of the many deserving artists, some of whose names you will recognize now and others who you will some day.  Why not take the opportunity yourself to fall in love with a small piece of Ireland...and maybe even take some home with you?
